  Looks like the Easter Bunny stuck again and this year the Easter bunny left 2 baskets!

 

Goose had a great time finding all 24 Easter eggs hidden throughout the house.

 

It looks like Bubbie is enjoying his toy.

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

I've been itching to get to the pumpkin patch before our October pumpkin makes his grand entrance, so on a record setting 85 degree day we made our way to the farm.  Don't laugh, that's HOT for October here in MN! 

Whenever I think of Charlie Brown, I think of Grandpa Bob.  It's funny how certain seemingly unimportant things can remind you of someone you love.  So with that, we have to take a picture, just for the fun of it!

In seek of the perfect pumpkin for the front porch.

Valentine's Day Fun 2014

For Valentine's this year, JV's school invited all the parents to join them for their Valentine's Party.  BV couldn't get out of work, but since Valentine's fell on a Friday I was lucky enough to be able to join him for the morning. 

 

Above, JV and his friend are doing "telephone work".  The kids were very quick to teach me that we don't sit ON the mat!

 

Next, JV choose Playdoh work.  1st he has to place a mat on the table where he will work, followed by getting the tray with the Playdoh materials, placing the materials on the mat, and returning the tray to it's assigned spot.  Finally, he plays, or as the Montessori teacher would say, "works" with the Playdoh.  It was nice to see him work so independently!

But of Course it's more fun with friends!

The last part of the party was giving and receiving Valentine's cards and goodies.  As you can see, JV was pretty silly/excited about this.

When dad came home, JV was very excited to give everyone, including himself, a Valentine's balloon from the dollar tree.

4th of July

Celebrating the 4th of July started off at Brooklyn Park Library.  It was our 1st 'toddler storytime" event and I was quite pleased with the way it was run.  It was like going to preschool for 45 mins.  The theme of course was 4th of July where the librarian alternanted between a book, a felt board story, book, song, and finally gave out flags for the children to march with. 

While we were there, JV didn't care to march with the other kids, but when we come home he literally ran in circles with Shogun as he cheered with the flag.

Later I had him make a the American flag.  I started by having him color this flag blue knowing that I would only be using the star portion for our project.  Because he has the attention span of a 2 year old, after all, he is almost 2, we took a break when he was done.

When he wanted to do more art projects I brought out the white paper and red stripes that I had cut the day before.  After showing him how to dip the q-tip in the glue and rubbing it on the paper I stepped back and let him work his magic.

While he was busy glue the stripes down, I cut out the stars section of the flag from earlier.

Here he is putting a little extra glue on the stars.  I guess he really wanted it to stick...LOL.

Happy 4th of July!

 Last, but not least, was a cookout with our friends.  Someone is VERY happy to be here!

 How cute is he?

And of course, you can't have a 4th of July cookout with out an American dish.  This could be the most delicious sugar cookie flag EVER!

Little Man goes to bed pretty early so this year I took him trick or treating at the farmer's market.  I don't think he realized he was dressed like a monkey but he was super cute and seemed to enjoy the attention from the big kids.
